Leia completed a conjoint degree in Commerce and Health Sciences at the University of Auckland before graduating from the University’s faculty of law in 2014. During her University and professional studies, she worked at the Health and Disability Commissioner’s Office investigating claims of substandard healthcare and ensuring compliance with the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers' Rights.
She was admitted as a barrister and solicitor in April 2015 before moving to London. Leia worked at the General Dental Council, investigating whether a registrant’s fitness to practise was impaired in line with the statutory framework. Leia then moved to Lloyds Bank plc, where she defended the bank against regulatory and ombudsman claims with regards to the sale of interest rate hedging products, fixed rate loans, FX derivatives and other complex commercial banking products from within the bank’s product portfolio.
Leia returned to Auckland in June 2017 to join the firm as a Solicitor.
