Scandle v Far North District Council (HC)

This was a professional liability claim brought by the owner of a house that was moving down a sloping, cliff top property. Susan, Frana and Shyrelle acted for the council and its insurer. The court found that the council had not caused the loss and it was not responsible for the actions of a private certifier who carried out a later foundation inspection. The council completely escaped liability and was awarded costs.
